Start with a sample
In Studio, tap Try sample batch, then Process 3 images. The original illustrative artwork lets you test the entire workflow without granting photo access.
Import your photos
Choose photos opens Apple’s system picker and imports only your selected still images. Import files supports JPEG, PNG, HEIC and single-image TIFF. Batches hold up to 20 images. Each original must be at most 100 MB, 100 megapixels and 20,000 pixels per edge. Animation, RAW and multi-page images are not supported. Live Photos are processed as stills.
Fit an upload limit
Choose Fit KB limit, set your maximum, and process. KB uses 1,000 bytes. The app tests compression quality, then reduces dimensions if needed. Every successful result must fit your cap. Check the receiving website’s other requirements too; PhotoTaper does not guarantee acceptance by a third-party form.
Resize or convert
Resize pixels can use a longest edge, fit a bounding box, or center-crop to the box shape. Smaller originals are not upscaled. Output supports up to 6,000 pixels per edge. Convert format exports JPEG, HEIC or PNG. PNG preserves transparency; JPEG and HEIC use white behind transparent content. HEIC is not accepted everywhere. Conversion may increase file size.
Save the new copies
Tap a result to compare it. Share / Save to Files opens Apple’s share sheet. Save copies to Photos asks for add-only Photos permission. If saving is denied, use Files or allow additions in iOS Settings. Originals are never modified or deleted. Creating copies does not automatically free device storage. Keep the app open during processing.
Presets, activity and temporary files
Save preset stores your current settings; select it later in Presets. Activity keeps numeric summaries of the last 100 batches, not photos. Reprocessing adds another entry. The working batch is temporary and clears at the next app launch, so export files you want to retain. Presets and activity may be included in your Apple device backups. Delete a preset by swiping its row; clear activity from Activity.
Metadata and privacy
Exported copies omit source EXIF, IPTC and location metadata. Visible information in the image remains visible; this is not a redaction tool. Color and orientation information needed to render the new image may be included. See our privacy policy.
Purchase
PhotoTaper uses a one-time App Store purchase with all current tools included. No subscription, ads or in-app purchases. Apple handles billing and downloads. Refund requests go through Apple’s purchase support.
